Chocolate Cake

3ozs Butter

4 ozs Sugar

1 egg

Vanilla

7ozs self raising flour

1.5 ozs Cocoa

1.5 teaspoon baking powder

175 mls milk

Cream butter and sugar and vanilla essence.

Beat well

Sieve flour add cocoa amd baking powder

Stir into creamed mix a little at a time

Fold in stiffly beaten egg white – very lightly

6” baking tin greased and floured

Moderate Oven 375 for 1.5 hours
